| "Smile": Arrangement #1: Chord-Melody Style: Moderately Easy The first arrangement is melody only supported by chord accompaniment in 2 registers. It is immediately followed by a simple, but effective "Up-The-Neck" 'Chord-Melody' solo in the key of G. It also is Fakebook style in that the whole arrangement has the 2 paragraph lyrics and melody line on the top staff. I personally enjoy the chord progression on this tune... I remember the melody from when I was a kid... almost 50 years ago!

| | "Smile": Arrangement #2: Scruggs style (throughout) in G. Moderately Easy I did this arrangement after doing the first one... It seemed like 'over-kill' to have that much information in one tablature.
It's still got the Fakebook line on top with all lyrics to the 2 paragraphs of the song.
The bottom staff is Scruggs style to a degree... it is actually 'roll-style', because it does not actually contain Scruggs 'licks' if that makes any sense. The melody is fairly busy in this tune, which doesn't leave much room for riffs for the sake of riffs.
If you like this kind of music, I think you'll be pleasantly surprized. It's fairly easy to play and in the key of G. $2.00 |
