This arrangement has a melody line played by harmonica that features all of the lyrics that Stringbean sang when he did the tune.
The banjo part is written for 3 finger style banjo with picks, but emulates the older 2 finger-style Stringbean played with 2 fingerpicks by employing extensive use of the double-thumb, 3-2-5-1 roll.
This is much more of an old-time arrangement... definitely not bluegrass per se... and the double-thumb (3-2-5-1) roll gives it that effect and flavor while still employing the use of 3 picks.
I avoided the use of any Scruggs licks to keep it old-timey... there are no forward rolls in this arrangement... all double-thumb (3-2-5-1) rolls.
