A personal friend of mine was just 'crazy-out-of-his-gourd' for this classic Stones tune...which I barely remembered from the high school days.
I have it set-up as a fakebook style arrangement where ALL lyrics and melody as sung are on the top staff.
The second staff has banjo playing back-up, which later trades places and licks with the third staff...
The third staff features banjo also. It has the banjo playing some 'lead-guitar' type licks in the beginning, then it does more of a "roll-style" back-up, before finally "chunking" chords in the most basic of Scruggs style.
This is the first time I can remember putting 2 banjos in the same arrangement...doing back-up to support the tune and playing some background lead type material.
I would call this a band arrangement really. It's got multiple parts...and playing either one of the banjo parts by itself may not give the listener a clue as to what they're hearing...the vocals always help on a tune like this.
But, I really like the arrangement because of it's simple, yet complex nature...
In whole, it definitely puts the tune out there in Scruggs style for the world to hear.
Fairly Challenging.
